Drawing My Way Home with Kengo Brown
Saturday 14th October, 2pm
“How can I figure out where my home is?” Artist Kengo Brown invites you to a round table discussion to exchange experiences and opinions on how one can navigate their way “home”. As your point of departure, Kengo asks you to consider where you would like to bury your bones. Later, participants will complete a group drawing that reflects the conversations by mark-making on a large paper surface “how far they believe they are to their home.” This workshop aims to open up meaningful conversations on benefits and/or difficulties around geographical relocation, attachment to place (country, town, house, specific location etc), distance from family members, and how one can make their current location “home” - ultimately attempting to answer “Where would they like to bury their bones?” No preparation is required for this workshop, please feel free to drop by.
Trigger warning: discussions covered in the workshop may be upsetting for some individuals. If you do not feel comfortable discussing such topics it is recommended that you do not attend this workshop.
