Observing Nature Through a Fresh Lens with Lucy Davies
Saturday 12th October, 2-5pm
Join Lucy for a cyanotype workshop and explore the beauty of nature through a fresh lens. In this hands-on session, you’ll learn the ancient art of cyanotype printing, and capture the intricate details of leaves, insects, flowers, and other natural elements. We’ll also discuss our connection with the environment and how observing nature in new ways can deepen our appreciation and curiosity.
Participants are invited to bring along natural materials, and to consider their own connection and sense of belonging to the natural world. Lucy will also be bringing an array of insects, plants, and sustainably sourced pinned insect specimens to observe the intricate and amazing structures, shapes, and patterns of the tiny world. By the end of the workshop, you will not only have stunning prints to take home but also a renewed perspective on the natural world around you. Come ready to engage, create, and reflect on our relationship with nature!
Please feel free to bring your own fabrics and thick acid free paper if you wish to experiment with surfaces. All other materials (including acid free paper) will be supplied.
