Full Circle: Studio Artist Exhibition

Surface is pleased to announce the return of our annual studio artist show: Full Circle. The exhibition will bring together a collection of artwork by current and recent studio artists.

Emerging from winter with the seeds of new creative growth for their annual exhibition, the studio artists will reveal new work that has been nurtured over the recent months. Full Circle encompasses a range of materials, including drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, installation and textiles. The exhibition creates a space for relationships to be formed between unconventionally aligned practices, while each is underpinned by a familiarity of Surface as a community for creative development. This includes the ghostly typewriters and anthropomorphic figures of Gerry Henegan-Barr, Ali Squires’ displaced organic sculptural shapes, and Paula Reid’s geometric imaginary landscapes. The exhibition takes you in, around, and between different ideas of growth and materiality, presented through dissimilar processes in conversation with one another. Expect stored sunshine to light up Surface this April!

Full Circle opens in the Main Gallery in conjunction with If They Only Knew: A Solo Exhibition by Charlie Buttrum in the Project Space. As always, there will be a donation bar with ales from local brewery, Pheasantry.
